No minimum property value or size threshold
Finance Ministry guidance states that covered acquisitions by non-residents from April 1, 2026 are reportable regardless of the price or size of the real estate.
More transaction details must be reported
The revised Form 22 adds items including whether the counterparty is a resident or non-resident, the acquisition purpose and the property's identification number. Buyers should collect these details during the transaction.
Closing is not necessarily the last compliance step
International buyers should plan for post-closing obligations as well as the purchase contract, payment and registration. Tax administration, property management and future sale procedures should also be considered before acquisition.
