Corporate acquisition activity slowed
The seasonally adjusted corporate transaction volume index fell to 281.6 in April 2026, down 2.7% from March. The residential component declined 2.2% to 314.2. The index uses 2010 as a base of 100.
Condominium transactions were notably weaker
Corporate acquisitions of detached houses rose 0.8% month on month, while condominium acquisitions dropped 6.5% to an index level of 258.7. Non-residential transactions increased 0.9%.
Liquidity is an important investment signal
When acquisition prices and financing costs rise, institutional and corporate buyers may become more selective. Overseas investors should monitor transaction volume alongside yields, rents, financing costs and exit liquidity.
